Hello and welcome to my web page. I obtained my B. Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Poojya Dodappa Appa College of Engineering Gulbarga in 1998 and PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Cincinnati USA in 2005. From 2015, I have been working as an Associate Professor in the Computer Science and Engineering Department of the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar. From 2010 - 2015, I was an Assistant Professor in the same Department. From 2004 - 2010, I was an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department of Quincy University, USA.  

Research Interests

I work in distributed systems. Currently, our group is exploring scheduling and resource allocation algorithms for fog/edge Computing. We are also investigating real-life applications that can benefit from fog/edge computing. For more details, please visit my research page.

Service

I am currently serving as an Editor for Wiley's journal Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience (CCPE). In 2022, I have served on committees of IEEE CCGriD, IEEE CCNC, IEEE Cloud, IEEE ICCCN, and other conferences, in various roles.  For more details, please visit my service page.

Academic Visits

Prospective M. Tech., M. S. (Research) & PhD Students

Admission to the graduate program at CSE, IIT Ropar is quite competitive. It is our expectation that a graduate student will produce high quality research and publications in top tier journals and conferences. Emphasis is placed on the quality of the research rather than its quantity or the time duration. Graduate students receive a monthly stipend and have access to hostel, mess and lab facilities. Admission is ONLY though an entrance exam and interview that is usually conducted twice a year - in May and December.
