Master's degree in Chemical/ Biochemical/ Petroleum/ petrochemical/ Polymer Engineering or Technology or a Master's degree by Research in Chemical/ Biochemical/ Petroleum/ petrochemical/ Polymer Engineering or Technology. Candidates must have obtained at least 60% marks (or 6.5 CGPA) (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST) in their Master's. In addition, the candidates must also have BTech/BE in any of the aforementioned disciplines.

 

Note: If selected for the PhD program, it is essential for all the candidates, irrespective of any engineering disciplines, to credit a minimum of 3 departmental core chemical engineering subjects. The list of departmental core courses are: 1) Advanced Transport Phenomena, 2) Advanced Chemical Reaction Engineering, 3) Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics, 4) Chemical Engineering Mathematics.

 

PhD Direct:

 

Exceptional candidates having B.Tech/B.E (Chemical Engineering) qualification with valid GATE score can apply for direct admission to PhD program.

OR

A candidate with a Bachelor’s degree (Chemical Engineering) from any IIT and having a CGPA/CPI score of 8.00 (out of 10.0) and above are exempted from requirement of GATE qualification to apply.
