Research

Design and synthesis of nanoporous catalysts such as zeolites, metal oxides, metal-organic framework, carbon nitride, metal phosphates, etc., for their applications in sustainable chemical and fuel synthesis. The work of the group is concentrated on the synthesis and characterization of high surface area materials with controlled porosity with applications focused on heterogeneous catalysis and photocatalysis. The catalysts are being developed for the renewable synthesis of chemicals and fuels from biomass and plastic waste. The catalytic processes are also aimed at synthesizing pharmaceutically important synthetic intermediates. Catalysts are also developed for utilization of CO2 to chemicals and fuels. Overall, the research contributes to the development of new heterogeneous catalytic materials for sustainable catalytic processes for chemicals and fuel production.
