"Regional (North - IV) Workshop on Institutional Digital Repository for National Digital Library of India (NDLI) Project" at IIT Ropar

MHRD, under its NMEICT mission, had entrusted IIT Kharagpur to develop a Pilot of National Digital Library of India (NDLI) towards building a national asset in April 2015. The Pilot phase (Phase-I) of the project has been completed well before its scheduled completion period of March 2018. MHRD therefore decided to foreclose the project on 30th September 2017 and launched the Phase-II of the project from 1st October 2017 with a time frame of two and half years.

The objective of the project is to integrate all existing digitized and digital contents across educational institutions of the nation to provide a single-window access with e-learning facility to different groups of users ranging from primary level to higher education level of our county. NDLI harvest metadata and contents from all the Institutional Digital Repositories (IDR) of Universities and Institutions, all other digital library initiatives, and NMEICT projects and index in the NDLI Server so that all the e-contents can be searched and accessed in the full-text by the users through a single window. Please visit https://ndl.iitkgp.ac.in to view the beta version of NDLI. It is also available as Android Mobile App, (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mhrd.ndl) and iOS (https://itunes.apple.com/in/app/national-digital-library-of-india/id1244687043).
