• The Training & Placement Cell (nodal point for placements at IIT Ropar, which includes a body of student representatives) sends invitations to companies along with relevant information.
• A Company can show its interest in recruiting IIT Ropar students by contacting T&P Cell, IIT Ropar at placement@iitrpr.ac.in, stating intent to visit IIT Ropar campus for recruitment.
• Head, T&P Cell will reply within 2-3 working days with a personal login ID and password for the company to log onto the company webpage.
• After logging in, company needs to fill the online Job Announcement Form (JAF)¹.
• Company can then use the website to upload any information in the form of presentations or documents they want the students to see.
• The dates for campus interviews are then, allotted on the basis of information provided in JAF².
• Suitable date for the Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) is decided by the discussions between the company and the T&P Cell. After confirmation from the company, students are notified of the PPT date.
• The company visits IIT Ropar campus and conducts its PPT.
• The company may also, if interested, conduct selections for summer internships of the pre final year students on the same day.
• Interested students register for a particular company online through an internal website.
• Resumes/CVs of the applicants are made available to the company concerned for short listing online.
• The list of short listed students is mailed to the T&P Cell prior to the campus visit for final interviews.
• The company visits the campus for placements on the allotted date and conducts Aptitude test/Technical test/Personal Interviews/Group Discussion as part of their preferred selection procedure³.
• The company is expected to furnish the final list of selected students on the same day after the selection procedure is completed.

¹ The Job Announcement Form provides the primary basis of communicating the details of the positions offered by the company to the candidates. It is therefore, highly desirable that the form is completed in all respects.

² The decision regarding the dates is on the discretion of the T&P cell. The finalized slot and schedule should be strictly adhered to. The company is entailed to abide by the decision. If due to some reason, the company wants to change the date, it should revert to the T&P cell immediately.

³ Please note that the facility of video conferencing is available at the campus and can be availed for the purpose of interviewing candidates in case the company is unable to visit the campus.
