Himachal Pradesh University, established in 1970, is the only multi-faculty residential and affiliating State Public University in Himachal Pradesh. With a vibrant academic community of nearly 360 faculty members, 9000 on-campus students, and over 1.25 lakh students enrolled in affiliated colleges, the University has consistently served urban, rural, and tribal communities through formal and distance education. Over the years, it has emerged as a premier institution in the northern region, offering 107 academic programs across 10 faculties and fostering cutting-edge research through specialized centres such as the Centre for Green Energy & Nanotechnology, Centre for Artificial Intelligence & Cyber-Physical Systems, Himalayan Centre for Disaster Risk Reduction & Resilience, Ramanujan Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems & Indian Mathematics and Centre for Pahari Culture and Heritage.
