Budaraju Srinivasa Murty

Prof. Budaraju Srinivasa Murty is an Indian Metallurgical engineer currently serving as the Director of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad and IIIT Raichur. He has previously acted as the Head of Department at IIT Madras and professor at IIT Kharagpur.

His research interests include nanocrystalline metals and alloys, High entropy alloys, Bulk metallic glass, quasi-crystalline alloys, grain refinement and modification of AI alloys, AI-based composites, insitu composites, non-equilibrium processing, particulate technologies, thermodynamics and kinetics of phase transformations, transmission electron microscopy and Atom-probe tomography. He was awarded the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, the highest science award in India for 2007 in engineering science.
