Prof. Govindan Rangarajan is an Indian mathematician, academician, and professor, currently serving as the Director and Professor of Mathematics at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore. His research includes nonlinear dynamics, chaos, computational biology, and time series analysis. He was awarded the Homi Bhabha fellowship in 2001 and the Chevalier dans l’Orde des Palmes académiques (Knight of the Order of Academic Palms) by the French Government in 2006.


He is the J.C. Bose National Fellow for the decade 2011-21. He is currently also the Director of the Indo-French Centre for Applied Mathematics (IFCAM) the first Unités Mixtes Internationales (Joint International Units) of CNRS, France in India.
