PROFILE

Dr Chandana Patra, is working as Head in Knowledge Resource Centre, earlier known as Library, Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute, Kolkata. She did her B.Sc. from University of Calcutta followed by Bachelor of Education and Bachellor of Library and Information Science From Vidyasagar University, Associateship in Documentation and Information Science from Indian Statistical Institute and Ph.D. From University of Kalyani.

She has an experience of 33 years in various roles working in the libraries of the premier research institutions of India. She has witnessed many changes and challenges in her libraries implementing various projects in libraries. She possesses significant administrative and management skills, the ability to lead people, and the experience to be able to cultivate a culture of teamwork and innovation among staff. She has vast experienced of organizing National and International seminars and conferences as a member of the executive committee, convener and member of various committee and sub-committee, formed to organize the same in CGCRI from time to time, on the occasion of celebration of the Golden Jubilee and the Diamond Jubilee Celebration of the Institute. She is also members of various committees of her Institute and Member Secretary of Library Advisory Committee.

She has good number of publications those are well cited by other scholars and three edited volumes. She was member of the Editorial Committee of her Institute's newsletter and annual report. She has also presented papers at national conferences and delivered invited lecture.

She received Common wealth Professional Fellowship award of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission, UK, Best Poster Paper (2nd) Award for poster presentation of the Indian Association of Special Libraries and Information Centre and 1st Runner Up Team in “I-Quiz 2008” of Informatics India Limited & IASLIC.
