PROFILE
Gurdish Sandhu is an accomplished IT professional, librarian, manager and leader with over 25 years of experience in the higher education sector. She has worked in various roles in libraries, IT and information services across three continents.
Currently, she is an Adjunct Faculty of Digital Transformation and IT Advisor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar, where she leads and manages the IT department and strengthens the IT infrastructure, relationships and team. She is also an Advisor to the Technical Advisory Committee of Library, Documentation and Information Sciences Division at the Indian Statistical Institute.
Previously, she worked as an Associate Director of Digital & Information Strategy and Associate Director of Information Services at the University of East London. Concurrently, she was the Programme Leader of Commonwealth Professional Fellowship programme at the University of East London.
She is an expert in strategy and policy development, digital strategy development, stakeholder engagement, international relations, digital libraries, collaborative project management, leadership, performance measurement, research data management, institutional repositories, systems management, library new building and refurbishment, management of IT training services and coaching and mentoring IT and information professionals.
She has a passion for talent development and mentoring and coaching aspiring information professionals. She is a prolific author and speaker on digital, information, leadership and library related topics. She is passionate about lifelong learning and transforming information services to meet the evolving needs of learners, teachers and researchers.
She is a Professional Fellow of The British Computer Society - Chartered Institute for IT, a Chartered Librarian of Chartered Institute of Librarians & Information Professionals and a member of Women In Banking & Finance. She has served on CILIP. UCISA, SCONUL and JISC national committee in UK.
