K. Adhinarayanan

PROFILE

K. Adhinarayanan is a professional in the field of Library and Information Science, with an experience of twenty seven + years. Currently he is holding the position of Chief Knowledge Officer at Bharthidasan Institute of Management, BHEL Campus, Trichirappalli, Tamil Nadu. Before that, he served as “University Librarian” at Vellore Institute of Technology (Deemed to be University) formerly VIT University, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, and before that he was Deputy Librarian at Amrita University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. He has rich and varied experience in Digital Library services, Library modernization project with IT Services, and designing of institutional repositories by using open source software’s. In addition, he has vast experience in Library Automation and Networking and all other modern concepts with ICT applications in Library Management.

He is an awardee of the prestigious Commonwealth Professional Fellow in IT Services (2015) from Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK funded by UK Department of International Development (DFID). He has a wide experience and knowledge in modern library management and IT based information services. He is an efficient teacher in Library and Information Science discipline especially IT approaches and applications in LIS field. He has very good experience in Library Modernization Projects, RFID Technology, Electronic Resources Management etc. He is a member of Special Libraries Association, USA, and Life Member of ISTE and member of ILA, IASLIC and TLA. Dr. K. Adhinarayanan has introduced the RFID biometric based self-Issue and Return system at Library of VIT University, Vellore.
