PROFILE

Dr. Raj Kumar Bhardwaj is an accomplished professional and has received several prestigious awards and accolades for his contributions and research endeavours. As the recipient of the Commonwealth Professional Fellowship in the United Kingdom, Dr. Bhardwaj has demonstrated his commitment to excellence in his field. He has also been honored with the Informatics Innovation Award 2022 and the Informatics Outstanding Researcher Award 2022, recognizing his outstanding achievements in research and innovation. ASIALA Outstanding Research Award 2022 is also conferred upon him at Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Dr. Bhardwaj is currently serving as the Chief Librarian at St. Stephen's College, University of Delhi, India. Previously, he played a vital role as an Assistant Professor at the School of Information and Communication Studies at the Central University of Punjab, where he was instrumental in establishing the department and designing the curriculum according to the National Education Policy 2020. Additionally, he introduced four new courses, including Legal Information System, Research Data Management, E-Research Tools and Techniques, and Entrepreneurship in Library and Information Science. With a strong educational background, Dr. Bhardwaj holds MCA, MLIS, M.Phil, and PhD degrees from the University of Delhi. He has an extensive publication record, with over 65 publications in reputed journals published by esteemed publishers such as Emerald Publishing, Taylor & Francis, and Cambridge University Press, books, reviews and course content. His expertise is sought after globally, and he has delivered 90 invited talks at various international conferences, workshops, and training programs. Several of his lectures were also telecasted on television DTH channels. Further, he trained librarians of more than 500 Government Schools in Delhi in the last 10 years through In-Service Training programmes. Dr. Bhardwaj's research projects have made a significant impact, and he has completed four major projects while actively participating in several international projects. He serves as a reviewer for 10 international and 3 national journals in the field of information studies, showcasing his commitment to advancing the scholarly discourse.

Notably, Dr. Bhardwaj holds esteemed positions in international organizations. He is the Information Coordinator and Standing Committee member of the IFLA (Hague, Netherlands) IM Section, contributing to the development of information services globally. He was also a Jury Member of the International Paper Contest of ASIS&T (USA), recognizing his expertise and judgment in the field. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dr. Bhardwaj is the founder of the startup ISVI, further showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit and innovative mindset. Recently, his works have received international recognition, including the DI Scholarship Award 2022 from the USA.
