With more than two decades (20+ years) of rich and fulfilling work experience, Dr. Kataria is presently working as a Professor and University Librarian at Bennett University (Times of India Group), He also served as Founding Librarian, BITSoM, Mumbai, Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (Deemed University), Noida and University Librarian, Banasthali University (Deemed University), Rajasthan. Dr. Kataria has contributed about 40 research papers in reputed journals, International Conferences, and has also written/edited 9 books/ conference proceedings. Dr. Kataria is on the board of several prestigious national and international Journals as an editor and Member Editorial Board. Dr. Kataria has guided and supervised 4 Ph.D. scholars and many master dissertations. He has been invited by several Institutes in India and abroad to deliver keynote addresses and has delivered invited talks. He conceptualized ETTLIS (International Symposium on Emerging Trends and Technologies in Libraries), an international platform for sharing global best practices of librarianship, which was held for the first time in 2008 and consequently in 2010, 2012, 2015, and 2018. Recently, He organized “Aalekh: The Carnival of Books-2K23” at Bennett University where renowned authors shared their rich experiences in form of a Book Talk.
He is the recipient of several International Fellowships and Awards including a Commonwealth Professional Fellowship in 2012 at Middlesex University London and 2017 at the University of East London UK, AN Marappan Memorial National Best Young Librarian Award 2009, SATKAL Young Librarian Award in 2012, University Librarian of the Year (2019) by Madhya Pradesh Library Association, Best Librarian Award for 2019 by Society for Promotion of Libraries, Uttar Pradesh, and many more awards & recognitions for his professional and scholarly contribution globally.
Dr. Kataria also introduced a unique concept for promoting library resources, services, and facilities among the scholar community through quizzes, learning games, workshops, seminars, etc. The program (LibQuest ’19) was organized at Bennett University with the theme Connect – Content – Collaborate. LibQuest ’19 was well organized and appreciated by the participants. Recently, he completed a one-week Executive Program on Leadership Institute for Academic Librarians (LIAL) at Harvard Graduate School of Education, Harvard University, Boston USA. He is always keen to adopt the best practices of the world’s top-ranked institutions like Harvard Universityor MIT
