Prof. P. K. Raina served as the officiating director before Prof. Ahuja's appointment until April 2021. Prof. Raina is also a professor in the Department of Physics at IIT Ropar, who has previously served as the Dean (Academics) and Dean-in-charge of the Transit Campus at the institute.
