About the Conference
Welcome to PHYCON-25, The National Physics Conference! This significant event is being hosted at IIT Ropar, Punjab, to celebrate and advance both theoretical and experimental research in physics. As the foundation of our understanding of the universe, physics drives innovation and shapes discoveries that impact both scientific progress and everyday life.
Held annually, PHYCON provides a platform for researchers, academicians, and students to engage in meaningful discussions, share their latest work, and explore new ideas in physics. The conference highlights the latest findings in the area of light-matter interactions, quantum information technology, condensed matter physics, material science, nuclear & particle physics, and gravity & strings.
The conference aims to inspire young researchers, especially PhD students, to pursue high-quality research with creativity and excellence in India. It also offers a great opportunity to connect with some of the country’s leading physicists and industry experts through plenary talks while providing a respected platform for participants to present their research through talks and poster sessions. By fostering knowledge-sharing and collaboration, we hope to pave the way for future scientific breakthroughs in India.
Join us at PHYCON-25 as we come together to celebrate the spirit of physics and its endless possibilities!

About the Department of Physics
Established in 2009, the Department of Physics at IIT Ropar is dedicated to excellence in teaching and research, shaping the future of science and technology. This department plays a key role in supporting the institute’s undergraduate program while also offering MSc and PhD programs in physics. Through research-driven learning, we prepare young scientists to excel in their fields, advance scientific progress, and actively contribute to society by sharing and applying their knowledge.
Our research focuses on four key areas: Light-Matter Interactions & Quantum Information Technology, Condensed Matter Physics & Material Science, Nuclear & Particle Physics, and Gravity & Strings. Through these fields, we aim to expand scientific knowledge and contribute to discoveries that help us better understand the physical world and its future possibilities.
