Biography
Dr. Asad H. Sahir is a Chemical Engineering Educator with research interests in Process
Systems Engineering (Modeling, Control, and Optimization), Energy and Environmental
Engineering. His previous professional experience includes
working with the USDOE's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) as a Postdoctoral
Researcher-Chemical Process Engineer; and as a Senior Research Engineer with Bharat
Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL)’s Corporate
Research and Development Centre. He pursued his doctoral research at the University of
Utah under the guidance of Prof. JoAnn S. Lighty and Prof. Adel Sarofim (deceased). From
November 2017 to July 2021, Dr. Sahir served
as the Head-Professional Development, Career Development and Corporate Relations Centre,
IIT Ropar and has been the advisor for the Society of Women Engineers IIT Ropar
Affiliate. He works extensively with industrial partners
and governmental organizations on research and engineering education projects.
