Short Biography

Sreekumar Jayadevan is an Assistant Professor of philosophy at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, Punjab (India). He completed his master’s degree in philosophy from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, Kerala in 2004. He received his M.Phil in philosophy in 2006 and PhD in philosophy in 2013 from the Department of Philosophy, University of Hyderabad. He worked as Assistant Professor of philosophy at Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur, Rajasthan from 2013 to 2016. His PhD research primarily addresses the debate over scientific realism and history of science. He analyses the import of several episodes in the history of science to the thesis of scientific realism. In recent years, his research includes philosophical issues related to human existence, technology, and design.
