Dr. Arun Kumar (Head)
About:Dr. Arun Kumar is an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics. He received his PhD degree from IIT Bombay. Prior to joining IIT Ropar, he worked in a hedge fund in Mumbai and also served as a visiting assistant professor at IIT Madras. He also had a short stint at IIM Sirmaur as a faculty. His research interests include Stochastic Process, Time-Series Modelling, Mathematical Finance and Data Science.

Dr. Amritesh
About:Dr. Amritsh has been working with IIT Ropar as a member of the faculty since 2017. I completed my Ph.D. from IIT Kanpur and worked on a few national and international research projects over there. My research interest falls in a broader area of Marketing and I am currently trying to explore transformative elements of design, behavior & wellbeing. The prime interest of my current research is to explore the influence of interaction between service environment and consumer identity in various forms and stages of consumption situations that subsequently lead to creating transformative effects. On the teaching front, I have designed and taught a range of undergraduate level, master's level, and research-oriented courses in my area. My research articles have appeared in leading international journals published by SAGE, Emerald, Westburn, Springer, Taylor & Francis, and Cambridge University Press. I have been equally involved in institute administration in different roles at the departmental as well as institute levels.

Dr. Pushpendra Pal Singh
About:Experimental physicist with a passion for cyber-physical systems, instrumentation, and data reduction methodologies. He invests his research time working on nuclear reactions, rare-decay processes, environmental radioactivity, quantum sensing devices/imagers, and the deployment of cyber-physical systems for interdisciplinary applications. He is PI and Project Director of the iHub-AWaDH, a Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) established by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, at IIT Ropar in the framework of National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS). He has been INFN international fellow in Italy, Helmholtz Fellow in Germany, Technical coordinator of Lund-York-Cologne-Calorimeter (LYCCA) and the Advanced GAmma Tracking Array (AGATA) for multi-branch signal processing through digital electronics.

Dr. Santosh Kumar Vipparthi
About:Dr. Santosh Kumar Vipparthi, a distinguished member of IEEE, brings over 12 years of experience spanning academia and industry. He is presently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar), India. Prior to this, he held positions at the Mehta Family School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) and Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur, an esteemed institution fully funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Dr. Vipparthi earned his Ph.D. and MTech degrees with Honors in Systems Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Varanasi (IIT Varanasi), BHU, India, and a B.E. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Andhra University, Andhra Pradesh, India. His research interests include computer vision, affective computing, deep learning, among others. He is actively involved in various sponsored and consultancy projects in the field of computer vision from both public and private sectors.

Dr. G Sankara Raju Kosuru
About:Dr. Raju obtained his doctoral degree from the department of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India. He carried out post-doctoral studies at Indian Statistical Institute Bangalore, India. Dr. Raju was a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics, Central University of Tamilnadu, India from July 2012 to May 2013. He has been a recipient of Best thesis award at the department of Mathematics, IIT Madras for his doctoral work. Presently, he is an Assistant Professor at the Department Mathematics at IIT Ropar. Dr. Raju’s areas of research interests include Matrix Analysis, geometric accepts of functional analysis, Approximation theory, Fixed point theory and applications.

Dr. Subrahmanyam Murala
About:Dr. Subrahmanyam Murala received the B.E. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Andhra University, Andhra Pradesh, India, in 2007. Afterwards, he received his M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Roorkee, India, in 2009 and 2012 respectively. He was a Post-Doctoral Researcher in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Windsor, Windsor, ON, Canada from July 01, 2012 to June 30, 2014. Currently, He is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Ropar, Rupnagar, Punjab, India. Dr. Sudeepta Mishra
About:Dr. Sudeepta Mishra is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Ropar since Feb 2020. He earned his B.E. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from B.P.U.T. (Biju Pattnaik University of Technology), Rourkela, M.Tech. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the KIIT (Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology) University, Bhubaneswar, and a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. Prior to joining IIT Ropar, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad campus from May 2017 to Jan 2020. He also worked at TATA Consultancy Services Ltd. from Jun 2008 to Dec 2010 as a Systems Engineer. His research interests include, but not limited to wireless networking such as cellular networks and wireless ad-hoc networks; the Internet of Things.

Dr. Sujata Pal
About:Dr. Sujata Pal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of CSE at IIT Ropar. She received her Ph.D. degree from IIT Kharagpur. She was a recipient of the TCS Scholarship. She was awarded the prestigious Schlumberger Faculty for the Future Fellowship for 2015 and 2016. She was a Postdoctoral fellow at the University of Waterloo, Canada, before joining IIT Ropar. Her research works have been published in high quality international journals, such as IEEE TCE, TMC, TPDS, TC, TCyb, ACM Computing Surveys, FGCS, International conferences, such as ICC, IEEE MASS, GLOBECOM, MobiCom, SenSys, a book and several book chapters. Her current research interests include IoT, blockchain, WBANs, software defined networks and mobile ad-hoc networks.

Dr. Smruti Ranjan Behera
About:Dr. Smruti Ranjan Behera has done his Ph.D. from the Delhi School of Economics. After his Ph.D., he joined the Dept. of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Ropar, in March 2013. Since December 2019, he has been working as an Associate Professor (Economics) at IIT Ropar, India. His research interests include agglomeration and urban economics, economic geography, spatial econometrics, FDI and technology spillover, regional spillover, patent and innovation, open economy macroeconomics, time series and panel data econometrics, etc. He has more comprehensive experience in teaching and research, and he mainly teaches applied econometrics, spatial econometrics, urban economics, and macroeconomics to undergraduate and postgraduate students at IIT Ropar. He has published many scholarly articles in peer- reviewed international journals in the domain of economics of innovation, economic geography, FDI and technology spillovers, productivity spillovers, open economy macroeconomics, and which are published by leading international publishers like Taylor && Francis, Elsevier, Sage, Springer, Emerald, World Scientific, etc.

Dr. Puneet Pasricha
About:Dr. Puneet Pasricha is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at IIT Ropar. Prior to this, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Swiss Finance Institute, EPFL, Switzerland (February 2020- September 2023) and a visiting associate fellow at the School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics, University of Wollongong (February 2019 - December 2019). Puneet earned his PhD in 2018 and his Masters in Mathematics in 2014, both from IIT Delhi and a B.Sc. from Kurukshetra University in 2012. His research interests include stochastic modelling in finance, particularly derivative pricing and credit risk. He has recently developed an interest in machine learning applications in finance.

Dr. Deepak Singh
About:Dr. Deepak Singh is an active researcher with a rich academic and professional background. He earned his Master's and Ph.D. degrees from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, where his research primarily focused on limit theorems. Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Singh further honed his expertise as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Statistics at Colorado State University, USA. His tenure there solidified his foundation in statistical theory and applications. Additionally, he gained valuable industry experience working as a research engineer, where he applied his academic insights to practical challenges. Currently, Dr. Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at IIT Ropar. His research interests encompass limit theorems, statistical inference, and a broad range of statistical methodologies in data science.

Dr. Mudasir Ahmad Ganaie
About:Dr. Mudasir Ahmad Ganaie is Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar. He is also working as Associate Faculty in the Center for Applied Research in Data Science at IIT Ropar. Prior to that, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Robotics, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. His research interests include machine learning, deep learning, support vector machines, optimization, applications to Alzheimer's disease and dementia. He has published over 28 refereed journal papers of international repute. His publications have over 1963 citations with h-index 19 (Google Scholar, May 2024). He is currently the Associate Editor - Computers & Electrical Engineering, Elsevier (2023 - ) and Action Editor - Neural Networks, Elsevier (2024 - ).
