Steel is an integral part of our life, from utensils to automobiles to construction of skyscrapers. Steel production is also one of the indexes that determine the development of a nation. As per the World Steel Organization, crude steel production holds 0.7% of Global GDP which involves 1869.9 million tons of crude steels (MT). India is a second largest producer of steel after China with over 2% contribution to national GDP by steel sector.
Process Metallurgy Research Laboratory (PMRL) focuses to serve benchmarking analysis and drive global improvement in the area of steel process, technology and innovation. Our lab intends to increase awareness, understanding and support for the industries to understand modified techniques and implement it.
