- Dr Mukesh Kumar of the Department of Physics got highly competitive Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowship 2020-2021 by the USIEF.
- Dr. Shilpa Sharma, Postdoctoral Researcher at IIT Ropar has been awarded Shastri Research Student Fellowship (SRSF)-Post Doctoral award for the year 2019-20 for a period of 17 weeks to pursue a course (module/part of a course), or undertake a project or internship on ‘Aggregation Induced Emission Enhancement (AIEE) based Molecules for theragnostic of Cancer Cell’. This fellowship is supported by funds from the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD), Government of India.
TOCFL is an official Chinese language proficiency exam from Taiwan conducted by the Taipei Economic & Cultural Center in India (TECC). This certification enhances career opportunities and eligibility for scholarships to study in Taiwan. On November 30, 2024, two students from IIT Ropar appeared for the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) at Shoolini University. Last week, the students received their official TOCFL certificates from the Ministry of Education, ROC (Taiwan). The exam has a full score of 160, and they have achieved remarkable results.
With their excellent scores, both students are now eligible to apply for Taiwan government scholarships for Chinese language studies.

This marks the fourth time IIT Ropar students have taken the TOCFL exam. The institute successfully conducted the exam twice in 2023 (May & November) in collaboration with TECC. In May & November 2024, students appeared for the exam directly at Shoolini University.
Mr. Sadiq Abdullahi Waziri, a Ph.D. scholar in the Department of Civil Engineering, has been awarded an HTRA increase by IIT Ropar in recognition of his recent publication:
