Dr. Anu Prathap M.U. holds dual masters, Master of Science in Chemistry and Master of Technology in Polymer Engineering. He obtained his PhD degree from Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology Ropar in 2014. From July 2014 to November 2016, he worked as post-doctoral research fellow in School of Materials Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. After successfully finishing the project, he moved to the Department of Biological Systems Engineering, University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA as a postdoctoral research associate (February 2017-January 2019). Presently, he is an Assistant Professor holding Ramalingaswami Re-entry Fellow at Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. So far, he has a total of 30 SCI publications to his credit in the international journal of repute, two book chapters, one US patent granted and second US patent filed. His research study includes developing nanostructured polymer materials, metal oxides and carbonaceous materials towards application in small molecular electrocatalysis consisting of electrocatalytic water splitting, methanol oxidation, supercapacitors for energy storage, and microelectrode fabrication for bioanalytical applications.
Dr. Rajkumar Kore
PhD: 2010-2014
Dr. Kore completed his Master’s degree from Pune University in Organic Chemistry. Then, he worked at NCL Pune on production and separation of biodiesel for about 1 yr. Dr. Kore worked with Dr. Srivastava at IIT Ropar and completed his PhD in 2014. His doctoral study was primarily focused on “Design of ionic liquids for zeolite synthesis and catalysis”. Then, he worked as a Postdoc at the University of Alabama (US) with Dr. Robin Rogers for over 3.5 yrs and led many industrial sponsored projects includes MIT Novartis and Reliance. Later, he moved to the University of Kansas (US) and worked as a Staff Scientist with Dr. Mark Shiflett for 5 years. There, he collaborated & led many industrial sponsored projects (e.g., DuPont, Wonderful, etc.) and developed novel materials for catalysis, gas adsorption, and separations technologies. Dr. Kore contributed 10+ intellectual properties and 40+ publications and additionally served as a Guest Editor in Journal’s like Molecule. On March 2023, Dr. Kore initiated his full-time career in Industry with INVISTA (Texas, US site) as a Principal Investigator.
Dr. Balwinder Kaur

Dr. Balwinder Kaur did her B. Sc. Degree (2007) from A.S.B.A.S.J.S. Memorial College Bela, Ropar and M. Sc. Degree (2009) in Chemistry from Punjabi University Patiala, Punjab. She received her PhD degree from Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology Ropar in 2016. From August 2016 to July 2017, she worked as a post-doctoral research fellow in Department of Biosensors, Institute of animal reproduction and food research, Polish Academy of Sciences, Olsztyn, Poland and thereafter as BELSPO post-doctoral fellow at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. There after she worked as research associate in Department of Chemistry, University of Massachusetts Lowell, USA from June 2018 to December 2019. She has a total of 30 publications to her credit in the international journals of repute. Currently she is working as an Assistant Professor, Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) Chandigarh.
Dr. Bhaskar Sarmah

Dr. Bhaskar Sarmah passed B.Sc in Chemistry in 2007 from Gauhati University, Assam. Thereafter he pursued his M.Sc in Applied Chemistry (Organic specialization) from Tezpur University, bearing 5th position in 2009. He also cleared CSIR-UGC-NET (JRF) having 72/823 (AIR), GATE with 93 percentile in Chemistry in 2013. He worked as Project Fellow from 2010, August to 2013 June at Guwahati University, Department of Chemistry under the guidance of Prof. Pranab Jyoti Das. He completed Ph.D in Chemistry (Area: Heterogeneous Catalysis) from Dept. Chemistry, IIT ROPAR, Punjab in 2018, under the mentorship of Dr. Rajendra Srivastava. After that, he worked as Scientific Officer-cum-Lecturer at NIPER Guwahati, Assam from 2019, July to 2021, July. Currently, he is working as a Research Associate at IIT Guwahati, Department of Biosciences and BioEngineering under the guidance of Prof. Pranab Goswami.
Dr. Poonam Rani received her bachelor’s and master’s degree from the Department of Chemistry, Panjab University, Chandigarh, India in 2013. She obtained her Ph.D. degree in inorganic and organic-inorganic hybrid porous frameworks from the Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology Ropar in 2019. She worked as a post-doctoral researcher on the CUCAM project (http://www.cucam.cuni.cz/#person147) in the Department of Physical and Macromolecular Chemistry; Faculty of Science, Charles University, Czech Republic. Her research involves the synthesis and catalytic applications of nanostructured zeolites, metal-organic framework and their composite materials. She has published 16 publication in reputed international journals and has granted 1 Indian patent. Currently, she is working as a research associate in the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Virginia, Charlottesville.
Dr. Subhajyoti Samanta
Ph.D.: 2015-2020
Dr. Subhajyoti Samanta completed his B.Sc. with Chemistry Honors from Vidyasagar University, West Bengal in 2009. In 2011, he finished his M.Sc. in Chemical Science from Guru Ghasidas Central University, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. He qualified for CSIR-NET LS and GATE in December 2012 and 2013, respectively. Immediately, he joined CSIR-Institute of Mineral and Materials Technology, Bhubaneswar as a Project JRF and worked from June 2013 till January 2014. In August 2014, he joined IIT Ropar as a project fellow under Dr. Rajendra Srivastava and enrolled in the Ph.D. program in January 2015. His research interest focused on carbon nitride and metal oxides heterogeneous catalysis. He was also the recipient of CSIR-Direct SRF and CSIR- Foreign Travel Grant for attending the Conference in China in 2019. He was nominated by IIT Ropar to attend the prestigious Global Young Scientist Summit (GYSS-2020) in Singapore. He was awarded his doctoral degree with distinction in December 2020 by Institute Silver Medal for Best Doctoral Thesis in Chemistry.
He is working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Lehigh University, Pennsylvania, US, since March 2021on heterogeneous catalysis for gas up-gradation project.
Dr. Abhinav Kumar

Dr. Abhinav Kumar completed his Master’s degree in Analytical chemistry from Gurukula Kangri University, Haridwar, India in June 2015. He qualified Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2016). In July 2016, he joined as a postgraduate student working towards a Ph.D. degree in the Department of Chemistry under Dr. Rajendra Srivastava at the Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar, Punjab, India. His research interest focused on the synthesis of metal phosphates, metal oxides, and graphitic carbon nitride based heterogeneous catalysts for lignocellulose biomass and CO2 conversion to fuels and chemicals.
He is working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Jerusalem, Israel, since May 2022 on heterogeneous catalysis.

Ashish Kumar Kar received his Master’s degree in Chemistry from North Orissa University, Baripada, India in June 2015. He qualified NET-LS (CSIR-UGC) in Chemical Sciences held in December 2015. In October 2016, he joined as a postgraduate student working towards a Ph.D. degree in the Department of Chemistry under Dr. Rajendra Srivastava at the Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar, Punjab, India. His Ph.D work was mainly focussed on the synthesis and application of MOF and COF.
He is working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Insitute of Porous Material of Paris (IMAP) ESPCI-ENS-CRS, Paris.

Ganesh Sunil More received his Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry from Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Maharashtra in 2016. He qualified GATE in 2018 and also Maharastra State Eligibility Test in 2018. In July 2019, he joined as a postgraduate student working towards a Ph.D. degree in the Department of Chemistry under Dr. Rajendra Srivastava at the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, Punjab, India. Dr. Arjun Behera is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Govt. College Sundargarh, Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Odisha (OES-I). He acquired his Ph.D. degree from SOA University, Bhubaneswar, India. He worked as a Postdoctoral research fellow at IIT Ropar, India (2020?2022) and as a Postdoctoral researcher at Kumoh National Institute of Technology, South Korea (2022?2023).His name also appeared under the Physical Chemistry discipline, in the Stanford University study list of the top 2% of Scientists in the world and also secured a position in the AD Scientific index-2023 India top 10000 Scientist survey made by AD Scientific Index Ltd. world scientist and university ranking. He has made significant contributions toward the development of Metal/Metal oxide, metal sulfides, and carbon materials for sustainable catalytic and photocatalytic processes. His fields of interest include the design and synthesis of nanostructured materials for catalytic applications, including photocatalysis and electrocatalysis. Dr. Jacky Advani received his Master’s degree in Nanotechnology from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, India before being awarded a Ph.D. in Chemical Science from CSIR-Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute, India in 2020. His research interests include the development of various heterogeneous catalytic systems for biomass valorization. Dr. Santimoy Khilari received his M.Sc. degree in Chemistry (Physical Chemistry Specialization) from Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh in 2011. He qualified joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2010 under UGC-JRF category. Then he joined as a UGC-JRF fellow in Prof. Debabrata Pradhan’s laboratory at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. Dr. Khilari completed his Ph.D from IIT Kharagpur in 2017. Subsequently, he joined as an institute post doctoral fellow in Catalysis Research Laboratory, Department of Chemistry, IIT Ropar and worked till 2018. After that he worked as a research associate at Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Tirupati. Dr. Khilari joined as an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry, University of Allahabad in 2022.
