At IIT Ropar, we believe in the culture of complete and holistic wellbeing for the student community. Driven by the vision of holistic health and emotional balance, the institute has a vibrant campus ecosystem committed to personal growth. With that in mind, the idea of an annual techno-wellness fest was conceived in 2024, appropriately named ‘Nirvana’.
Nirvana (nirvāṇa) is an indic word for freedom, liberation, and enlightenment. In its literal and philosophical sense, Nirvana represents liberation, the cessation of struggle, and the ultimate blowing out of the fires of stress and anxiety. By bringing thousands of students together to participate in expressive art therapy, mind gyms, mental health dialogues, and community bonding, the fest creates a shared environment of warmth and positivity.
In 2026, Nirvana attracted more than 5,000 students towards an event dedicated to the importance of wellbeing, featuring:
The main theme of the fest was Carnival, a picturesque event that included fun games ranging from sumo fight, to zorbing, to maze, and all other kinds of carnival activities.
It is evident that Nirvana will continue to include more in the upcoming years and have a longer impact on those who join us. It provides a rare space where everyday stress dissolves, self-awareness deepens, and thousands of individuals unite to build a kinder, healthier community.
