Biography

Dr. Shankhadeep Chakrabortty is affiliated with the Department of Physics, IIT Ropar, as an Assistant Professor since 1st December 2016. He completed his PhD in 2013 from the Institute of Physics (IOP), Bhubaneswar. Afterward, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences (IMSc) and IISER-Pune. He received the Erasmus Mundus-Namaste postdoctoral fellowship and worked at the Van Swinderen Institute for Particle Physics and Gravity, University of Groningen, Netherlands. Before joining IIT Ropar as an Assistant Professor, he was a postdoctoral fellow at IIT Kanpur.

My broad research interest is exploring quantum gravity in curved and flat spacetimes through the eyes of the holographic principle.

My recent research interests are: 

1. AdS/CFT correspondence and its application. 

2. Flat limit of AdS/CFT correspondence and its application.

3. Boundary Conformal Field Theory and its ultra-relativistic and non-relativistic limits. 

4.  Singular limits of string theory
