Introduction

Dr. Ranjana Sodhi earned her B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from NIT Hamirpur, in 2005. She has been active in the field of electrical engineering since 2005. In the past she had a brief stint as a Project Engineer (in voice and next generation networks group) at Wipro Technologies, Bangalore; and also got appointment as Additional Director in Central Electricity Authority (CEA), New Delhi, (IES batch 2005). She came back to academia to pursue research in the area of power systems and completed her Ph.D. from IIT Kanpur in May 2011. Dr. Sodhi is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of EE at IIT Ropar. Dr. Sodhi's doctoral research work is around the Synchrophasor technology and its applications towards power system state estimation and voltage stability assessment, Power Quality Assessment and Control, Smart Home Automation and Cyber Security of Smart Grids.
