Biography: 
Dr. S. Manigandan is a Chemical Engineer with 5+ years of experience in R&D (Industry and academia) and 1+ years experience in teaching in a reputed academic institute. Recipient of Shah-Schulman award for the best Ph.D. thesis in Colloid & Interface Science in India for the Year 2017, given by Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE) at the Indian Chemical Engineering Congress, 2018 (CHEMCON-2018). Recipient of "Institute Research Award-2017" for the quality and quantity of the research work done at IIT Madras. Recipient of "pre-doctoral fellowship award-2017" equivalent to post-doc, issued by the competent authority of IIT Madras.

1. Synthesis and self-assembly of Janus or patchy colloids
2. Synthesis of in-organic, polymeric, and metallic nano and micron-sized colloids
3. Self-propelled or active clusters
4. Rheology of colloidal dispersion; Water-in-Water (w/w) Pickering nano-emulsion (ATPS); Emulsion gels; Bijels
5. Synthesis of nano-capsules via the nano-emulsion template
6. Polymer coating for surface applications; Dip coating of colloidal particles; Langmuir-Blodgett deposition technique
7. Contact angle studies at fluid-fluid interfaces; Interfacial rheology using optical tensiometer
8. Wastewater treatment Treatment of pharmaceutical and personal care products in wastewater using micro/nanomotors.
