EDD is one of the important services of the libraries in electronic age and it works almost like ILL service. It refers to the delivery of the article(s)/chapter(s)/electronic copies of the document from the member libraries. Generally one library request the another library for the electronic resources which they have not subscribed.
In IIT Ropar, user(s) sends the bibliographical details along with the web link to subscriptions@iitrpr.ac.in and library arrange the articles from their subscription or from the member libraries depending on the availability. Our library also helps the other member libraries by providing electronic copies of the article(s) within the frame work of Publisher(s) license agreement.
Libraries help each other within the frame work of the license agreement of the publisher(s). EDD has turned up to be a boon for the libraries as well as the researchers in the times of shrinking budget.
