26,032 Print Books & Extensive e-Resources

The Nalanda Library functions as the primary information resource centre and repository of printed and electronic resources for teaching and research activities at the Institute. In addition to textbooks and recommended course readings, the Library maintains a growing collection of research monographs, reports, multi-volume reference works, dictionaries, encyclopedias, and handbooks.

The Library provides access to thousands of electronic books and journals through national consortia and direct subscriptions from leading publishers. Users can access more than 26,000 print books along with premier databases such as Scopus, SciFinder, and several economic and political databases.

Library operations are fully automated using the Koha Integrated Library Management System. The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) enables users to search the Library collection, while RFID technology supports self-service and enhanced security.

Nalanda Library has developed an Institutional Digital Repository using DSpace to preserve and provide open access to the scholarly output of IIT Ropar. These initiatives strengthen resource sharing and enhance participation in national and international inter-library collaborations.

The Library also offers extensive research support services, including citation analysis, reference management training, copyright guidance, and plagiarism awareness. Premium tools such as Turnitin are provided to help improve the quality and integrity of academic publications.
