Circulation Services

Nalanda Library provides efficient circulation services including issue, return, renewal, reservations, membership support, and guidance for using the OPAC and library accounts.

Circulation services are governed by rules and procedures formulated by the Library.
All registered students, faculty, and staff are eligible for membership. Submit the membership form along with a JPG photograph to libraryhelpdesk@iitrpr.ac.in. A Smart ID Card will be issued by the Library. The card is non-transferable. A duplicate card is issued on submission of an FIR and payment of ₹300.

₹2 per day during the first week after the due date. The fine doubles each subsequent week (₹4, ₹8, ₹16). After four weeks, membership is automatically deactivated until the item is returned or renewed.
Faculty members may borrow reference books for one semester, and research scholars may borrow them for one week.
Yes. Email notifications are sent for issue, return, and renewal transactions.
Yes. Overdue reminders are sent by email so that users can return or renew books and avoid accumulating fines.
Books can be renewed if no reservations exist. Physical presentation of the book is required. Renewals can be completed through the Self-Service Kiosk or at the Staff Station.
Inform the Circulation Counter immediately. You will be given two weeks to replace the same edition or pay the applicable cost along with overdue fines.
Yes. Library staff may recall any book before the due date in exceptional cases.
Two books may be issued for summer or winter vacations starting one week before the vacation. Due date is the first working day of the next semester.
Yes. Personal books, study materials, and laptops are permitted after entry is recorded at the Library entrance.

Staff Station: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM on official working days.
